Navigate to the NHS GP Appointments Data Dashboard and sign in with your NHS credentials.
Use the organisation filter to scope the data to your practice or PCN.
In the dashboard menu, click Download raw data. Raw data is limited to the previous 4 weeks — download regularly to build up a longer history for trend analysis.
The raw data download includes the Appt Type (local slot name) column — this enables extra mapping quality checks. The aggregated download does not include it.
Click Export or Download. The file will be a tab-delimited .csv or .txt file in UTF-16 or UTF-8 encoding — either works fine here.
Upload the file as-is — no need to open or re-save it. Excel can corrupt the encoding if you save over the original.
Acute same-day & non-urgent wait %
Performance against NHS access standards for same-day and planned appointment waits.
Inconsistent mapping & DQ breakdown
Flags slot types mapped inconsistently and highlights rows needing attention before submission.
Weekly trends & board report narrative
Week-by-week access performance charts with a ready-to-paste board narrative.
CSV exports included
KPI summaries, weekly trends, DQ rows, and the board report text — all downloadable in one click.
GPAD (General Practice Appointment Data) is a monthly NHS data extract capturing appointment booking and attendance patterns at practice level. It is used to assess access against NHS access standards for GP services.
This free tool applies the same metric calculation logic used for NHS access reporting — upload your own file to get instant results with no account required.
