PCN Funding Split Calculator 2026/27

For the 2026/27 financial year (starting 1 April 2026), the Capacity and Access Payment (CAP) and Capacity and Access Improvement Payment (CAIP) are being removed from the PCN Direct Enhanced Service (PCN DES) and repurposed into a practice-level GP reimbursement scheme.

This reallocated funding is worth £292 million nationally, which equates to approximately £4.58 per weighted patient. No per-practice distribution formula has been published in the DES letter, so the figures below are an indicative planning model only, using the PCN’s weighted list to estimate the envelope and splitting it by each practice’s share of the adjusted list size.
